When the trawlers of St-Vaast return too late to enter the harbor, as the gates close as soon as the tide recedes, they dock along the jetty to unload their catch. To photograph them, it is best to cross the gates toward the ramp used by the shuttle to the Tatihou Island, just beind the harbor's captain's office.

We told you about the English landing in St-Vaast at the beginning of the Hundred Years War.. Well, they did it again, sixty years later, while Henry IV was king of England and Charles VI king of France.
On June 27, 1405, in the thick of the civil war between the Armagnacs of Louis d'Orléans and the Bourguignons of Jean Sans Peur, the English invade St-Vaast, and according to Dom Lenoir, laid ruin to several towns and parishes. To make amend and repair the damage, in 1407, the King of France grants the sum of 1000 pounds to these parishes.
