Nous sommes à la fin du 19ème siècle : Etretat et ses environs sont les lieux de villégiature d’artistes et écrivains, à commencer par Maurice Leblanc, le père d’Arsène Lupin. C’est cette atmosphère de la Belle Epoque, où raffinement, élégance et art de vivre étaient de mise, que vous retrouvez au Domaine Saint Clair.

Composé d’un château bâti en 1862, et d’une ravissante villa construite en 1889, le Domaine St-Clair ne cesse de faire revivre les splendeurs du passé, dans l’esprit des châteaux anglo-normands du 19ème. Des personnages fictifs ou réels, dont Camille de Saint Phalle, la doyenne du lieu, et une histoire un brin romancée vous accompagnent durant votre séjour.

It was the end of the 19th century. Etretat and its surroundings were the holiday resorts of artists and writers, beginning with Maurice Leblanc, the father-creator of Arsène Lupin. It is this atmosphere of the ‘Belle Epoque’, in which refinement, elegance and the art of living were a requisite that you find at the Domain St Clair.

Composed of a castle built in 1862 and of a delightful villa constructed in 1889, Domaine St-Clair never stops reliving its glory days, in the spirit of Anglo-Norman castles of the 19th century. Imaginary or real characters, one of whom is Camille de Saint Phalle, the lady of the manor, and a personal history that is a shade romantic, accompany you during your stay.

Port-Racine, le matin, quand les cordages sur lesquels s'amarrent les bateaux encadrent les enfants qui attendent la marée montante pour plonger du haut de la jetée.

Depuis le port, on n'en voit que la toiture en ardoises et la plus haute rangée de fenêtres. Cintrée d'hortensias bleus comme un ciel d'été, blottie dans la verdure, cette belle maison qui s'allonge sur la colline, c'est en fait un hotel charmant.

Dans ce cadre du bout du monde, à L'Erguillère, on y savoure les embruns, les marées, le vent et le soleil. Le matin, le soleil levant lèche la terrasse où on prend son petit déjeuner en toute sérénité. L'après-midi, au salon de thé, dont la grande baie vitrée s'ouvre sur la Baie St-Martin et sur Port-Racine, on déguste les pâtisseries maison aux saveurs d'antan.
