Sur le quai du port de Grandcamp, quand les équipages s'affairent pour réparer leur équipement, on trouve quand même quelques belles photos à faire.

Daniel Mell, le chanteur barbu d'AVURNAV, nous fait part de ses impressions de la Fête de la Coquille:

Un petit mot pour vous dire tout le plaisir que nous avons eu de jouer devant (avec) le public chaleureux de cette superbe fête.

Les prévisions météos étaient plutôt exécrables mais fort heureusement en grande partie fausses.

Nous logions à la Grandcopaise. la patronne est d'une remarquable gentillesse.

Je ne sais si vous connaissez Fred et Agnès du "bar de la plage" qui étaient chargés de la restauration, mais si oui ils pourront vous confirmer que nous avons "mis le feu le samedi soir", il y avait une ambiance du tonnerre !! Ils comptent d'ailleurs nous faire venir en 2012 pour leurs animations estivales.

Retour un peu moins glorieux (fatigués tout de même) dans la tempête qui nous a accompagnés tout au long du trajet.

A short note to tell you the pleasure we had playing for an enthusiastic crowd during this magnificent festival.

The weather forecast was rather terrible, but happily turned out to be mostly wrong.

We stayed at Hotel La Grandcopaise. The owner is absolutely charming.

I am not sure if you know Fred and Agnès at the "bar de la plage". They were in charge of the food at the festival, and they could tell you that we really had a great show on Saturday night!! They have asked us to come back during the summer.

The way back home was less glorious: Tired, and an awful drive in a storm that stayed with us all the way.

Pour les matelots et marins, AVURNAV, c'est AVis URgent aux NAVigateurs.
Le 3 et 4 décembre à la Fête de la Coquille à Grandcamp, AVURNAV déclinera Chants Marins.

AVURNAV, c'est un groupe de chants de la mer du TréGor-Goëlo dans les Côtes d’Armor.

Ils sont cinq musiciens, cinq gabiers parfumés aux embruns iodés du nord de la Bretagne. Un souffle d’air marin qui décoiffe comme un coup de tabac, des mélodies envoûtantes comme des chants de sirènes.

Hors des sentiers battus, les musiciens qui ont une façon toute personnelle de chanter la mer et la Bretagne, revendiquent leur identité rock maritime qui s’exprime à travers leurs compositions dans des textes puissants contre les pollueurs, les injustices, les secrets d’états dont notamment Le Bugaled Breizh.

Leur nouvel album, "Mer rebelle", comporte 15 de leurs compositions qui affichent d’emblée ce cri de révolte. Leurs origines musicales diverses s'unissent à la recherche du plaisir de vibrer sur les mélodies et de partager des émotions avec le public.

AVURNAV, c'est Daniel (chanteur soliste, bodhran et djembé), Erwan (Batterie, flûte traversière, choeurs), Fabrice (guitare, percussion, choeurs), Philippe (basse) et Georges (violon).

Toirette, a trawler from Grandcamp, returns to the harbor after a night fishing at sea.

For all sailors, AVURNAV means AVis URgent aux NAVigateurs - Urgent alert to navigators.
On December 3rd and 4th, for the Scallop Festival at Grandcamp-Maisy, AVURNAV will mean sea shanties.

AVURNAV is a group of singers from the area of TréGor-Goëlo in Brittany, five people who love the sea and who bring with them the smell of the ocean and songs that charm like the chants of the sirens and take you off your feet like a strong squall.

They have their own way of singing of the sea nd of their native Brittany, a kind of maritime rock'n'roll which does not mind going after the polluters, the injustice of the world and the cover-ups of the adminstrations, including the Bugaled Breizh, a trawler sunk by a NATO submarine in the English Channel.

Their new CD, "Mer rebelle", includes 15 new songs of protest.

AVURNAV, it's Daniel (solo singer, bodhran and djembé), Erwan (Drum, flute, voice), Fabrice (guitar, drums, voice), Philippe (bass) and Georges (violin).
