It was late in the morning, just before taking this other picture of the same boat. The typical Norman drizzle had stopped, but the mist persisted over the river. A few minutes later, the sun would come out.

There are seven narrow bays on the west coast of the Cotentin peninsula: la Vanlée, Regnéville, Blainville, Geffosses, St-Germain sur Ay, Surville et Portbail. Three natural conditions are required for their formation: A low coast, a high level difference between high tide and low tide, and a river with enough of a flow to go through the line of dunes. At Régneville, the river Sienne created the bay, closed at the northern end by the Pointe d'Agon, a protected site.

Belles images toujours.

This is a great find. I love the tilt of the stranded boat's worn hull. Excellent composition and subject.
